Don't get hopes up too high, though. The presser was set to announce there was no agreement, then #CUPEstrike team decided they should let members decide.
They did not come to an accord. #fireLecce made no new offers; no new support or hours. CUPE just called off the strike until members have their say.

Credit where it's due: #CUPE averted the strike by deciding to take the latest non-offer from #fireLecce and let #EducationWorkers speak for themselves.
The gov't did nothing to avert the strike. Nothing to "keep kids in school."
Now it's clear who actually cares about the kids.

Laura Walton is not happy with the deal - no new staffing or hours; nothing has changed from a week ago. Monday's strike is only "averted" because CUPE thought its members should have a say. Not hopeful at all.

CUPE returned to schools in good faith even without the PCs revoking their dreadful, unconstitutional Bill 28 which attacks the rights of all workers!
Doug Ford and Stephen Lecce need to make a real offer if he wants our kids in the classroom!
