Last week, President Javier Milei of Argentina announced he plans to allow AI (non-human) corporations legal personhood, allow them to hold property & enter contract(s) as a legal individual (as 'normal' corporations now do).
Its already pretty clear that corporate legal personality (originally a privilege extended to enterprises contributing to the public good, but now seen as a business 'right') should be constrained not expanded, so, this is a worrying development!
