Laser offset on #laser and #cncmachines can be helpful for very quick alignments. It's pretty easy to do. Find yourself a crosshair laser and attach it with battery or inline. Burn/Carve a reference point (X), measure the offset of the laser to the center of your reference. Use G91 switches to incremental mode so you only have to enter the difference, G90 switches it back at the end. If you get the values pos/neg mixed up just flip them and you should be good to go.
Bit: 60° vee
X/Y speed: 300mm/min
Plunge speed: 286 mm/min (vertical ramp)
Depth per pass: 0.5mm
No roughing pass
These are quite conservative settings, especially on the plunge. Got some downcut bits on order to see if they enable a cleaner roughing pass. #CNC #CNCMachines #NotCNCTheKink
BTW - for all users of older devices that still use a 3.5" 'floppy' disc.. This looks like an awesome solution...
