Second project of the day: a gridfinity bin to store my dial indicator

Now that my metrology tools are getting more use I need to keep my drawer a little more organized and my tools a little more protected from being jostled and bumped.

This should do that nicely.

First lathe project for someone else!

I made a replacement handle for an old shopsmith lathe that should have two and the owner was just moving the red one back and forth.

Now they’ll have an easier time!

First time running acetyl on this machine and I flubbed the handle 3 times trying to add a fancy taper. I wasted about 6” of plastic on this little thing. So this one is just a cylinder with some generous chamfers.

Ordered push buttons, estop, contactors, terminal blocks, and a circuit breaker for my control box build.

I think that means everything for to get the cnc running is on order except an actual enclosure.

Not sure if I want to DIY that or order an off-brand NEMA enclosure.

I'm going to mount everything on DIN rails and see how it all sits and decide that later.

Finished up some collet racks for the mill.

This is my second go at the ER32 rack. The first one wasn’t beefy enough and sagged. One of them doesn’t feel so heavy and I underestimated the weight of 25 of those little fellas.

But I’m pretty happy where I eventually ended up.

La testa delle fresatrici "a ginocchio" tipo #Bridgeport è più snodata della testa delle Barbie, ma molte persone non la spostano mai perché hanno il terrore di doverla poi rimettere a posto.

Male!

Non è un lavoro difficile, e in ogni caso ogni tanto, se non si vogliono brutte sorprese, è sempre bene verificare di avere la testa a posto.

Quella della fresatrice, ovviamente.
