Been lurking for a while to feel how everyone interacts. Already found lots of interesting things and got excited following #fossdem this year.
Main current interests are improving my minimalist natural pool to #pond conversion and using and contributing to very wide range #foss software and hardware.

Yes, it is LESS THAN 1 mm "wide" (if my eye is still good enough I'd go for 0.55 - 0.65 mm).

A silly question for all #machinists here around.
I've seen many people using Anchorlube for turning, drilling, reaming, etc. and it seems a good product; alas, I can't find it in my surrounds.
But the question is: does it smell like menthol shave foam?
The look is almost the same!

More than 3,000 union members who assemble Boeing’s fighter jets in Missouri and Illinois went on strike today after contract negotiations failed. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 837, the union that represents the workers, says the strike is “about respect and dignity, not empty promises.” The work stoppage comes after the union rejected a contract offered by Boeing. According to the union, the workers assemble and maintain weapons systems, missile and defense technology and aircraft, including F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to learn more about this kind of adjustable hinge?
Questions I have:
What is it called? how does it work? Where can I buy the internal parts to install one on things I make?
Somewhat intrigued by the question of how these move smoothly but have enough internal resistance to hold weight in a given position.

Anybody got an idea what type of collet this is?
Its from a high speed spindle that was found without documentation. Most likely sold by ISEL in Germany.
This one is for 3mm tools, I will would like to get one for 1/8" tools.
