Kameya Yoshinaga's (亀屋良長) 'kobore-hagi' (こぼれ萩) is named after the image of bush clover flowers seemingly 'spilling out' from the main plant.
Nashinoki-jinja (梨木神社), known as the 'Bush Clover Shrine', is one of the best places to see hagi in Kyōto.
On the east bank of the Kamogawa near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, Jorin-ji temple was founded in 1573 and rebuilt after the Great Teramachi Fire. In the late Edo period, it served as a retreat for Katsu Kaishu, the famed naval engineer.
Today, it is celebrated as the Bush Clover Temple, where red and white hagi bloom in early autumn, and its serene garden offers quiet reflection 🌿

First known as Narabigaoka-dera (双丘寺), Hōkongō-in was created from the villa of Kiyohara-no-Natsuno (清原夏野 782-837) after his death in 837.
During his lifetime Natsuno filled the gardens with many rare plants, and covered the nearby hillsides with bush-clover.

Of all the flowers, the bush clover was a favourite with poets (in the Man'yōshū it is mentioned 140 times, more than any other plant!).

4) HAGI
Hagi (萩), mentioned numerous times in the Man'yōshū (万葉集), is one of the great symbols of Autumn.
Representing bashfulness, affection and a meditative spirit, the flower lends its name to 'ohagi' (おはぎ), a sweet of red beans served around the Autumn Equinox (お彼岸).
