After a last short morning stroll around Nagoya Castle in the morning of day 11 of my first Japan trip in 2006, it was a short 45' Shinkansen ride to Kyoto. Upon arrival, I left my bags at the hotel and headed out to explore Kyoto Station and Nishiki Market.

Finding peace along the Philosopher’s Path. Lined with 400 trees, it creates a tunnel of petals that stretches as far as the eye can see.
