How many authors you read in your youth (for me the 1980's / early 1990's) have remained authors you reread and buy new works from? (if still alive) vs. have shown themselves in recent years to have ugly sides that make them no longer people whom you want to support or even reread.

Fouth Book In August: "Le Cycle de Pendragon, tome 1: Taliesin" by Stephen Lawhead

Today I finished the 2025 International Booker Prize winner "Heart Lamp" by Banu Mushtaq (translation from Kannada to English by Deepa Bhasthi). The original stories were written in Kannada, a language spoken by 65 million people.

The stories are based around the lives of Muslim women, families and patriarchy in Southern India. I enjoyed the book, and recommend you read the translator's note.
