Freezer draw update.
2 part Apoxie has been applied - detailed investigation of cracks showed that liquid Expoy wasn't gonna cut it and would be a major PITA to apply.
Now just gotta leave it alone for 3 days to fully cure and see how it does.
If it doesn't cure and hold fast, or does cure but then doesn't fare well under freezer temps, I'll have to just go buy the expensive replacement part.

To anyone who wants to bring their why2025 badge to 39c3, don't forget to bring your antenna. If you don't have yours anymore, I am bringing a few kits with an antenna and connector (thanks to @a51c ).
I have 7 of them with a half-decent antenna for €6, and 2 of them with a the original badge antenna for €3.
The LoRa module on the badge also requires two bodge wires to be soldered. Two pieces of wire and instructions are included in the kits.
On some badges it may be required to remove some epoxy around one of the battery holders, and even if it isn't, it may make soldering the bodge wires easier. You may also want to make your badge safer and more compact by removing the battery holders entirely.
I am also bringing some epoxy removal kits for free (they're just alcohol wipes and disposable vinyl gloves).

I needed some wire because of LED lighting.
LED light bulbs are great, but they're heavier than the old incandescent ones. So my cheap #IKEA #Anglepoise knock-off desk lamp kept sagging from the weight.
I *could* find a new set of springs with a larger spring constant. But an easier fix is to restrict part of each spring, effectively making them shorter, and resisting a larger weight. Works fine!
What annoys me most about this situation is that I know I have a box of small heat sinks around here ... somewhere. But, this will do for now.

For when you want to use rss2email to spam the RSS feed from your Masto account to an email address, but also it doesn't include the images (or any hint there are images) so you have to write a little filter to get them yourself, including any alt text obvs.

Me, a cultured computer toucher: well I'll check, can repeat, check the menu - huh its set to homepage, right check the homepage setting, yeah thats the right place, ok check what the link points? Its a draft page. Do a couple of things to trip a menu refresh - no dice. Check the theme. Someone has hardcoded in a menu in a bunch of divs that looks up page URLs by ID. Lovely :(
