Denza lands in Italy. The first showroom was inaugurated in Bologna.

Denza, the premium brand of the BYD galaxy, has chosen Bologna to open its first showroom in Italy. The opening of the first retail location in Italy took place at via Agucchi 74/6, within a structure covering a total area of 530 square meters. The choice of the city was far from random: the Emilia-Romagna capital is at the center of a crucial automotive hub for the entire country and has been designated to host the first rapid FLASH Charging station on national soil, which will pave the way for a much broader European expansion plan, estimated at around 3,200 units in total.

To support entry into a complex market like the premium segment, it was decided to rely on the strong shoulders of the Barchetti Group, a historic entrepreneurial reality in the Italian automotive landscape with over a century of activity, currently led by Ivo and Andreas Barchetti. Within the exhibition space, visitors can already experience the Denza Z9GT and the Denza D9.

The Denza Z9GT presents itself as a shooting brake with decidedly fluid and streamlined lines, a vehicle that puts all its bets on high performance without sacrificing comfort. Anyone who still thinks that Eastern brands only produce economical city cars will be surprised in the face of a technical sheet that speaks of an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h covered in just 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h. Hidden beneath the bodywork designed by Wolfgang Egger is a powertrain capable of developing impressive power, with the option to choose between the purely electric version and the plug-in hybrid Super Hybrid DM-i. To take home this concentration of technology, list prices in Italy start from around €102,450 for the hybrid version, while it rises to €116,450 if you opt for the zero-emission engine.

The other protagonist is the Denza D9, a large minivan designed for both long family trips and business use as an executive shuttle. Offered in the Super Hybrid DM-i configuration starting from €79,950, this vehicle has a flexible seven-seat interior with premium finishes, complemented by technological gimmicks such as the Devialet audio system and "zero gravity" rear seats to ensure comfort comparable to that of a first-class aircraft. The battery and the thermal engine work in perfect synergy, allowing you to travel up to 210 kilometers in fully electric mode, a figure that rises to a remarkable 950 kilometers even utilizing a full tank of fuel.

In addition to the cars, the real revolution presented by the brand concerns the energy supply infrastructure. Together with the vehicles, the technology known as FLASH Charging, developed with the explicit aim of equating refueling stops to those required for a normal gasoline or diesel fill-up, is entering the European continent. Utilizing the second generation of the renowned Blade Battery supplied by the parent company BYD, the system is capable of managing impressive charging powers, which can reach a remarkable 1,500 kW. Translated into everyday use, this means that a compatible vehicle can go from 10% to 70% of internal energy in just 5 minutes, and reach 97% of the total charge in just 9 minutes. Engineers have also thought about the rigid winter temperatures: even in extreme climatic conditions reaching -30°C, the advanced thermal management allows to complete a refill from 20% to 97% in about 12 minutes.

BYD’s Zhengzhou Megafactory and Blade Battery 2.0 Are Turning the EV Race Up to Eleven

  • Dear Cherubs, BYD is building so much industrial real estate in Zhengzhou that the whole thing has started to look less like a factory project and more like a geography exam question. Reports from NDTV and Hindustan Times say the megasite is being developed in eight phases and could reach about 32,000 acres, or roughly 50 square miles, once complete. That is the kind of number that makes even “large” feel underdressed.
  • THE FACTORY

Reuters reported in February that BYD planned to hire 20,000 workers in Zhengzhou in the first quarter, and that around 60,000 people were already working at the city’s production base. In other words, this is not a sleepy industrial park. It is a full-on manufacturing ecosystem with lunch breaks, shift changes, and serious ambition.

NDTV’s coverage of the drone footage described more than just production halls. The site reportedly includes roads, worker accommodation, and even sports facilities, which is a polite way of saying BYD appears to be building a city that also happens to make electric cars. Tesla may own the headline-grabbing brand halo, but BYD is clearly busy owning the footprint.

    THE BATTERY

Then comes the real tea: Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging. According to BYD’s own media hub, the new setup can deliver a 10% to 70% charge in five minutes, a 10% to 97% charge in nine minutes, and, even at minus 30°C, a 20% to 97% charge in about 12 minutes. That is not a typo. That is BYD trying to make range anxiety pack its bags.

BYD says the system uses charging power of up to 1,500 kW and that it plans 20,000 flash chargers in China by the end of 2026, plus an overseas rollout. The company is also pitching longer range, with BYD saying more than 1,000 km is possible in some configurations. For drivers who have ever stared at a winter charging screen like it personally insulted them, the cold-weather angle matters.

The bigger picture is simple enough. BYD is not just selling more EVs; it is building the industrial muscle to keep selling them at scale, in tougher weather, and with less downtime. That is how rivals get nervous. Not with slogans, but with concrete, batteries, workers, and a charging curve that refuses to behave like one.

BYD's EV Centre is the first dedicated EV Dealership in Zimbabwe and probably also the first in most of sub-Saharan Africa

BYD’s entry into Zimbabwe should help catalyze the adoption of brand new EVs, giving consumers the comfort of full service back up and warranties, which are key concerns for potential corporate customers. BYD Zimbabwe has just opened its new EV experience center as well as a service center where people are welcome to come in for a coffee and check out the EVs. They say seeing is believing, and now that consumers have an opportunity to come in and see full electric vehicles for themselves, interest is growing from corporates and fleet operators.
It has just introduced the new BYD E6 with the revolutionary Blade battery. The Blade battery uses cobalt-free LFP (LiFePO4) cells in module-less CTP (cell-to-pack) configuration. The E6 comes with a 70 kWh battery, with an estimated range of 450 km in the WLTP cycle. https://squeet.me/objects/962c3e1042c1540089004d7f17d1b7719b02e762
