Can anyone help me understand if Power Profiles Daemon waits to initiate charging on a laptop until a threshold is hit? I'm assuming this is the case and is related to the battery-aware feature, but I haven't been able to find anything explicit.

Background: I noticed my laptop wasn't actively charging this morning. I'd never noticed that before. I immediately jumped to, "there's something wrong with my battery or the USB". I ran a battery diagnostic from the UEFI and it said there was a problem with the battery. At some point while I was researching the battery charged...

I had a whole back and forth with HP because they won't consider a warranty battery replacement unless they can run diagnostics through Windows. Well, guess who can't boot into Windows at the moment... But that's another story altogether.

Edit: I don't have thresholds as an option under Advanced in KDE so I assume that isn't the culprit.

At this point the sums for a storage #battery start to make sense. That overproduction during the day time can be kept and used in the evening. It also allows you to buy from the grid when it is cheapest, regardless of when you run the load.
