Still something of sentiment on a postcard: after the demolition of Palast der Republik from 2006 to 2008, there was no building at all on the Schloßplatz. On the site where Palast der Republik stood, a grassy plain with wooden walking scaffolding was constructed. It was freely accessible to the public and could be used for picnics, sunbathing, football, art projects etc. This temporary function of the site would remain until the reconstruction of the Berliner Schloß began in 2013.
Michel Meijer photographs cityscapes, landscapes and people. Using these three disciplines, he creates photo stories about religious devotion and human activity in their own living environment. In addition, Michel Meijer works as a graphic designer and postcard publisher.
