During its working lifetime, Loch Skerrow Halt was one of the remotest stations in the country. All that remains now are a couple of platforms, the ruins of the railway workers cottages and the Scots Pine planted to act as a windbreak.

Here's my latest wee #history #video , once again about Galloway's lost Railways.The Branch Line to Kirkcudbright opened in 1863 and closed just over 100 years later in 1965. Along the way it saw tragedy, triumph and glory as Scotland's Best Kept Station.
