VaryagOKAY, I think I am finally done with my Clans list! I have a selection of ten mechs, that I can print later and make tokens for, to play with when my local group meets up. I can pluck 2-5 out of them, sprinkle in a couple Elemental squads, and I have a force ready to play! Turns out the solution was ditching both the Fire Moth and the Hunckback IIC. If I need UAC/20 memes I have assault omnis, and there are less flimsy options for Elemental delivery services that are actually useful after the drop.
So here goes the list:

-Mad Cat (Timber Wolf)
-Man'o War (Gargoyle)
-Kingfisher
-Ryoken (Storm Crow)
-Dragonfly (Viper)
-Hellhound (Conjurer) (actually the Wolverine IIC)

-Hankyu (Arctic Cheetah)
-Vixen (Incubus)
and like I said, sprinkle in some Elementals for area control and to shore up initiative.

SSTFBattle Value is Flawed
So, I've been researching and trying to decide on my Clan mechs list for Battletech through the whole week. And, I've had huge trouble deciding on Assault and Light class mechs. I've settled on the big boys, but the smol mechs are really hard to pick. Mostly because most Clan Invasion era light mechs are ASS! 90% of them are almost unusable garbage! They're either too expensive in Battle Value points, too squishy or both. The Fire Moth dies to a soft breeze, but at least it's so fast it can drop a squad of Elemental infantry in the first turn of the game. The Kit Fox is adorable and I really want to use it, but it literally has less total armor than a Locust, which is already infamous for being a shitbox. I guess I have to settle for an Adder, because anything else is throwing away points on the table.

Caesar for a Hot Spots Hinterlands campaign I'll be playing in
FLGS is running a Battletech campaign where the players are the remnants of Clan Wolverine skimming along the edge of Kurita space away from the Clans.
Today was mech draw (random) and a test game so people could get used to their mechs a bit.
Highlander at my table didn't realize how tanky a Highlander was.
This one took 4x AC 10, 1x PPC, 34x SRMs in a single turn.
ISDLanding struts in and initialized, looks much more like a real DropShip already. I only had a bit of time again today, so just one of the things got painted dark grey (RLM 66) for the upcoming bare metal look.
All those cables/hoses in the mechanicals, three per piece, will be probably an overall mix of reds, greens, blues and rubber grey for little variety 🤔
