Nefarious AryqWas unable to print to my P1S last night, getting an error that I needed to insert a MicroSD card to print in lan mode.
Except, I had a card inserted— as I had since day 1 (it came pre-installed).
Card was not full, and I was able to read files off it from my computer.
I rebooted the printer after re-installing the card, and same error.
I had a spare 64GB card laying around, so I tossed that in the printer and everything is fine again.

This multi colored action figure of Rey has been 3D printed in a @bambulab_official P1S with AMS. Just 9 cm of fun.
I kept Bambu Studio around while I was trying out Orca Slicer but finally just uninstalled it. Sorry, Bambu — still don't trust you. Also, Orca is just better now.
So that's a complete and total removal of all Bambu software/services from my Bambu printer. No longer using Studio or Handy. No cloud — printer is in offline mode (and blocked from the internet), with print monitoring via Home Assistant and/or the 3rd-party Bambu Connect app.
Printed this for hubs’ mom. The “dirt” is a spring which allows the flower to slightly “bounce”. The pot was printed with the “fuzzy skin” option enabled which gives it a really cool texture. The flower and stem are both threaded, and there are multiple variations. Flower and stem are both Bambu PLA Basic (Sunflower and Mistletoe), the pot is Cookiecad Elixir PLA Witches Blue, and the “dirt” which you can’t really see is Bambu PLA Sparkle Onyx Black.
I finally wrangled Home Assistant into sending me status updates for my 3D prints with a snapshot from the printer’s camera. The idea came from a guy on Reddit, but I’ve modified it a bit (and need to tweak it further). It gives me updates at layer #3 (to make sure bed adhesion is good), then again at 50%, 75%, and at completion.
[Ignore the 50% vs 51% discrepancy- this was a bug in the original script which I’ve already fixed.]
Read between the lines in those responses and you'll clearly see Bambu's intent here. Nothing has changed — and I don't think they can be trusted.
My printer is staying in LAN-ONLY mode, the device has been blocked from accessing the internet via my router, I will not upgrade its firmware, and I am in the process of switching to Orca Slicer. While I do love this printer, I can't recommend Bambu Lab products anymore.
Home Assistant might be powerful but holy hell it is NOT the most user-friendly thing to get configured and customized. 😶🌫️
That said, I got it installed in a VM using UTM on my Mac Mini with the Bambu Lab integration.
Now that it’s working I can put my P1S in LAN ONLY mode and block it from the internet in my router.
This is all in response to Bambu Lab deciding it was gonna start enshittifying the platform. TWO DAYS outside of my return window, too.
