Secondo i dati di Global Forest Watch, pubblicati dall’Istituto delle Risorse Mondiali (WRI) il 29 aprile 2025, la perdita delle foreste primarie tropicali è diminuita del 36% rispetto all’anno precedente. È un trend significativo che segna la riduzione più consistente in vent’anni, offrendo un barlume di speranza in un contesto di distruzione forestale e incendi distruttivi.
In totale, oltre 4,3 milioni di ettari di foresta tropicale sono stati abbattuti nel 2025. Sebbene il dato possa sembrare allarmante, esso rappresenta un cambiamento importante, specialmente nel contesto di anni in cui abbiamo visto incendi record e continue perdite.
