A pleasant function took place in the Dainties Tea and Luncheon Rooms last evening in the form of a benefit social and euchre party in aid of Mother Mary Aubert’s Home. Many thanks are due to Mr. C. A. Smith and Mr. C. Wilcocks for their untiring efforts to make the evening a most successful one. About 150 patrons were present. In opening the evening, Mr. Smith thanked those present for their support, and spoke briefly of the good work which was being done by the Rev. Mother and her efficient staff. (Cheers.) He thought if the public only knew to what extent the work was carried out there would not be any need for public appeal. After outlining the work of the institution, Mr. Smith expressed a hope that the public would continue their support in the future which it has so readily given in the past. Cards were played and the games were keenly contested..…
