Incoming duck... I know this photo is a bit blurry and dark, but I like it anyway. Maybe it's the action and an angle on the subject that varies from my habitual.

#AnnapolisRoyal #NovaScotia was settled in 1605 by Samuel de Champlain .

Fort Anne is located within the boundaries of the town and was built as a military fort by the Scottish in 1629

The white building in the image is the original officer's quarters, which is now a museum.

A sally port is an exit in a fortification for the passage of soldiers or troops making a "sally" which is a military charge toward the enemy. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/fort-anne-through-the-sally-port-karen-cook.html #VisitNovaScotia #YourOceanPlayground #history

Built circa 1760, this charming salt box style farmhouse began its long life as a farm. it was purchased by Robert Patterson who renamed & repurposed it as the North Hills Museum. Filling the home with Georgian furniture, glassware & antiques, when he died in 1974 the home & its collections were left to the Province of Nova Scotia. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/north-hills-museum-karen-cook.html #YourOceanPlayground #VisitNovaScotia

Such colorful wall art decorates this wooden shed. Located on the wharf in the historic town of Annapolis Royal #NovaScotia, each buoy or float plays an important role in the safety of what is a dangerous occupation.

The colors and sizes of the buoys caught my eye as I wandered around the town. Such a casual display on the wall of the building for such important pieces of fishing gear. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/the-sea-wall-karen-cook.html #Fishing #AnnapolisRoyal #FishlingLife #YourOceanPlayground #VisitNovaScotia
