I've heard that many adventure game players think the traditional verb GUI became too old-fashioned, and they prefer a more simplified and modern GUI to play adventure games.
Do you agree or not? π€

Hey everyone,It's been six weeks since my last confessio... update, I mean update. I've been so busy since then that it actually felt like a lot longer. I even had to go back and read my previous update just to remind myself where I was up to.Wow, I've achieved so much since then! I'm glad to say that I am now working on the penultimate puzzle in the game, which is quite different to anything I've created before. I've laid a load of groundwork for it and just need to pull it all together, then I'm onto the last couple of cutscenes and the final puzzle (which hopefully shouldn't take too long to produce) and Heir of the Dog will be playable all the way through! One of the scenes near the end of the game... meaningful details obfuscated for spoilers. It's done what Lucy Dreaming did, and so many other developers have told me about their games, in that it has felt like I'm stuck in glue, barely making any progress for months... scratch that... YEARS... then, all of a sudden, there's light at the end of the tunnel and the end of the game is tantalisingly within my grasp!Once it's playable all the way through, I can start working on all the other stuff like: Beta testing and bug fixing Voiceover casting and recording Achievements Any other nice-haves and details which will make the game even better Kickstarter rewards (although, I've made quite a lot of progress on those too as I've gone along) Porting (I had to send my loaned PS5 devkit back recently, so console porting may come after the PC/iOS release... but I'll see how I get on) Having a nice cup of tea and a sit down All in all I'm in a good place but, learning the lessons from last year, I need to be careful not to burn out. I've barely stopped working on it since New Year, and am going to be taking a short holiday over the next couple of weeks to refresh myself for the final push!A great time was had at Debug Games Festival too, I can't believe it was almost a month ago already! It's probably worth mentioning that once I start working on the physical rewards, I'll need to finally stop accepting late pledges through Kickstarter, so if you know anyone who is interested in backing it, now's your chance to unfairly coerce them into giving me money!See you on the other side, I love you all!Tom x

All the Adventures reaches the 3rd game of the Canadian who moved to England, Marc Leduc. We're looking for alien life that's been detected on Venus.
The previous game was good, but is the natural desire of authors to make later games difficult going to be a problem?
