WWI era, aka the “Tommy” helmet or “doughboy”, modelled and rendered in Blender. The insignia on the front is from the 17th Indian Division, which was stationed in Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq).

"Zero-G Autonomous Stationkeeping Drone".

Finally completed @[email protected] 's excellent icosphere tutorial at Creative Shrimp. I thought that the result looked like an autonomous drone used for stationkeeping in low-gravity environments, so that’s how I textured it. I learned a great deal in the process: Rachel's work is always strongly recommended. Blender was used for modelling and Cycles for rendering, with significant contributions from HardOps and Substance Painter.

"Victorian British Royal Navy Captain’s Telescope"

In this work I wanted to concentrate on surfacing and distressing. This was my first serious foray into Substance, layering dirt, smudges and scratches on the telescope’s brass, glass and wood.

The engraving near the eyepiece is a tribute to my maternal grandfather, a captain in the Dutch Merchant Marine. I also used Blender's Compositor to add a tiny bit of anamorphic lens glare to the Cycles X render.
