The upcoming #synology articles on the topic of #DP7400 and #ActiveProtectManager will be longer than usual.

A lot to cover and yet so little time to play with the actual device. Also, the APM is a closed beta so some functions are still not implemented fully.

@t3kk @marqle I have and it works fine but wondering why you haven’t switched to #Synology #ActiveBackup ;)?

@noellemitchell #Synology makes great #NAS devices that among a lot of things can support #TimeMachine.

On top of that they also have their own #ActiveBackup package that support #macOS backups as of recent.

If running a local device is not something you are into, you can use their #C2Backup service that will also allow for #cloud backup of you #mac.

@vito #Synology has any number of #NAS models that are compatible with #TimeMachine. Also soon they will offer an alternative #backup option via their #ActiveBackup app that runs on any model from the “+” lineup. Would recommend looking into those one. They offer 2 bays and onwards. I have been using them for the past 15y so ask away if you have any questions (or visit my site). https://www.blackvoid.club/synology-101-set-up-apple-time-machine-backup/
