AGI - Un'immagine di Donald Trump apparirà presto in alcuni passaporti statunitensi, hanno dichiarato alcuni funzionari governativi. Trump sarebbe così il primo presidente statunitense in carica ad essere raffigurato nei documenti di viaggio degli americani.
Il Dipartimento di Stato ha dichiarato che offrirà il passaporto in edizione limitata per celebrare il 250esimo anniversario della Dichiarazione d'Indipendenza degli Stati Uniti di quest'anno.
Il dipartimento ha anche pubblicato sui social media un campione del passaporto, che presenta un Trump dall'aspetto severo sovrapposto alla Dichiarazione del 4 luglio 1776. Al di dotto della sua immagine compare la sua firma in oro. Un secondo passaporto in edizione limitata mostrerà invece un dipinto storico dei Padri Fondatori degli Stati Uniti.
"Mentre gli Stati Uniti celebrano il 250esimo anniversario dell'America a luglio, il Dipartimento di Stato si sta preparando a rilasciare un numero limitato di passaporti statunitensi appositamente progettati per commemorare questa occasione storica", ha dichiarato il portavoce del Dipartimento di Stato Tommy Pigott.

AGI - An image of Donald Trump will soon appear on some U.S. passports, according to several government officials. Trump would be the first sitting U.S. president to be depicted on American travelers’ documents.
The State Department has stated that it will offer a limited-edition passport to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Declaration of Independence this year.
The department has also posted on social media a sample of the passport, which features a stern-looking Trump superimposed over the 1776 July 4th Declaration. His signature in gold also appears alongside the image. A second limited-edition passport will instead showcase a historical painting of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
“As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of America in July, the State Department is preparing to issue a limited number of specially designed U.S. passports to commemorate this historic occasion,” said State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott.

Oggi la portavoce della Casa Bianca, Karoline Leavitt, ha rivelato il nome ufficiale affermando che la gigantesca struttura è in costruzione per celebrare il 250 anniversario dell'indipendenza del Paese.
Mostrando la foto, Leavitt ha affermato che l'opera "monumentale" sarà alta 76,2 metri e al suo vertice campeggerà una enorme statua dorata della libertà. Di fatto, diventerà la struttura più grande del suo genere al mondo, superando l'Arco del Trionfo di Parigi, quello di Pyongyan e il Monumento alla Rivoluzione di Città del Messico. I progetti per l'arco sono stati rivelati per la prima volta a ottobre, quando i giornalisti hanno notato un modellino sulla scrivania di Trump nello Studio Ovale.

It was nicknamed “Trump’s Arch,” but the tycoon’s latest construction project now has an official name: “Triumphal Arch of the United States.” Today, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt revealed the official name, stating that the massive structure is being built to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Showing the photo, Leavitt said the “monumental” work will be 76.2 meters tall and topped with a huge golden statue of Liberty. Essentially, it will become the largest structure of its kind in the world, surpassing the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the one in Pyongyan, and the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City. The designs for the arch were first revealed in October when journalists noticed a model on Trump’s desk in the Oval Office.
The arch is one of numerous architectural projects – including the construction of a giant ballroom at the White House and the renovation of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts – that the US president has undertaken to leave his mark in Washington during his second term. The work will be partially funded by US taxpayers, with $2 million in special funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEHU), and up to $13 million in additional funds for any donations, as reported by ABC News.
Leavitt stated that the goal is to celebrate American national pride: “Even after all of those present in this room are no longer here, our children and grandchildren will continue to be inspired by this national monument.”
