Even the current iPad Pro pricing is hard to justify, as it's evolved more towards 'Mac clone, but worse’ over recent years and away from 'the future of computing’, magnifying its flaws and the limitations/restrictions of its ecosystem. Doubling the price from where it is today seems unconscionable https://9to5mac.com/2023/03/09/oled-ipad-pro-launch-price/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon
Apple reportedly planning major price increase for OLED iPad Pro

Apple is widely expected to debut its first iPad Pro models with OLED displays sometime next year. In the lead-up...

I have now finally seen episode 3 of The Last of Us.

This show is incredible. That was one of the best 80 minutes of anything I've ever seen on screen.

I’m with @viticci — I’ll be honest, I’ve been hiding from iPadOS 16 and Stage Manager, and pretending it doesn’t exist. It’s hard to imagine a single feature being enough to evaporate years of enthusiasm for a platform, so maybe it’s just the final papercut in a long line of disappointments and ‘maybe it’ll be better next year’s. I’m real tired of the iPad, the computer form-factor I prefer, being hobbled because Apple chose to build two competing form-factor-specific computing platforms

Shevon Salmon is one of the best wallpaper-makers out there and I don't see him get the attention he deserves 😁

I like the fact that mastodon.social is the biggest instance, but I would leave for an instance that is paid only, say $10/month, has a cool domain name, and thus can afford to raise the rate limits.

Mastodon.social feels like early Twitter both culturally (good), and fail-whale-wise (not good).

a portable church called Mass Transit somebody write that down
I don’t know how to explain it, but time works differently in airports. 5 minutes and 5 hours are somehow the same. Your flight is delayed but arrives early. The carpets are from 1980. The water machines are from 2045. It is always happy hour. You have always been in the airport.

I don’t know how many times I have to tell you; I don’t care how *water* feels about the weather. I care how *I* feel about the weather.

Just because everyone does it doesn’t make it right.

(Also, as I’ve said many times, this is basically the only thing Americans get right so can we please just have this one, mkay?)

Great article about how Barnes & Noble's turned things around by empowering employees in the store to make decisions, instead of centralizing everything. https://tedgioia.substack.com/p/what-can-we-learn-from-barnes-and
