Life is full of bad ideas. You will likely make many mistakes next year, let this race be (one of) your first. What could be better than a free race on Jan 1 in Seattle? Let’s check-off as many mistakes as possible. You know that outfit you haven’t worn since high school? Perfect! Maybe eat a big greasy breakfast 30 minutes before the start. Did you party hard on New Years Eve and go home with a stranger? Bring that mistake with you too. It’s gonna be “That Kind of Fun”. https://drownedchipmunk.com/2025/11/10/second-annual-first-mistake-5k/
We did a Fourth of July #Beer #Run today. About 10 miles and five beer stops from Cap Hill to Hill City in #Seattle. Might have to make it a tradition.
It's brew day. Making something like an Irish Red Ale... But misread the recipe so it'll be a bit darker than I planned. Irish Crimson Ale? #BigBrew #Homebrew
Most of my baking has been rushed or done while distracted lately but I'm pleased with how this loaf turned out. #bread #sourdough #HomeBaking
Last weekend was my first time hosting a Community Loaves hub. Local hobbyists #bake bread and cookies for food banks and I got to deliver the 26 loaves and 77 cookies. They said they rarely get delivered by #bike http://drownedchipmunk.com/2023/04/11/community-loaves-hub/

Had a fun family visit to the UW Cherry Blossoms today. So many people were there. Plus coffee from Boon Boona and a delicious vegan lunch. Wonderful family adventure day
We saw this amazing waterfall on our hike today. The river drops about 10'/3m and does a 90° turn. It was especially cool to see with everything frozen. If you're driving US Route 2, you should stop at Deception Falls near milepost 56. It's worth the short hike. #Seattle #Nature #SloMo
On the way home from downtown, we hopped off at the Beacon Hill stop for a #beer at Perihelion. I'd forgotten how great their outdoor space is #Seattle
I've never had luck with high hydration breads so I usually stick with ~70%. A friend shared a recipe for a bread with 100% hydration so I tried it and it worked beautifully. The bread was light and airy. Definitely going to try it again. #bread #baking
We've been busy building #gingerbread houses
