Fox Squirrel (Sciurus niger) in Norman, Oklahoma, United States on May 11, 2026
Some of the camera settings I used to make this photo are at: https://www.rsok.com/~jrm/2026May31_birds_and_cats/IMG_5904c_2026may11_squirrel.html
There is also a video made from the still photo zooming in to the eye of the squirrel. https://www.rsok.com/~jrm/2026May31_birds_and_cats/video_IMG_5904c2.mp4. This has sometimes been called the "Ken Burns effect", although he was not the first to use it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Burns_effect.

Fixed up another tiny computer! This is an NAV51 (made by Acer, this one has the emachines branding though).
When I got it, the keyboard wasn't working. I got a replacement, and also upgraded to 2GB of RAM and a 512 SSD (both pulled from my spare parts bin). AntiX performs exceptionally well on the single core, two thread 1.66 MHz CPU.
I have a battery on the way that should be here in the next 2-3 weeks, and then I can take this bad boy on the road!
