Wow. Wordpress just announced they have to drop support for Twitter in their Jetpack post sharing plug-in as they haven’t been able to reach agreement with Twitter for access. They are committing to adding support for Mastodon!
The majority of the Web’s individually run websites are Wordpress! It’s ON!!

Thanks @romanlutz for sharing the link.
Why am I surprised. I had to verify it myself, but Twitter now labels CBC as 69% funded by the government.
TORONTO (AP) — The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation paused its use of Twitter on Monday after the social media platform owned by Elon Musk stamped CBC’s account with a label the public broadcaster says is intended to undermine its credibility.
🚨BREAKING NEWS!🚨
Automattic, the company behind WordPress, is now co-authoring the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress.
The intent is to make WordPress a "first party Fediverse member" on par with Mastodon, Pleroma, and Pixelfed.
WordPress already powers 43% of all websites—and every one is a potential Fediverse server.
Automattic employee @kraft just confirmed this.
@[email protected] @[email protected] Matt is also in a position to get invited to these new platforms, so he should take it to check it out. He's been giving away invites to others at Automattic, especially engineers, to check it out. And, at the same time, Automattic is partnering up with the developer of the ActivityPub WordPress plugin to continue to iterate on WP being a first party Fediverse member. ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/ see that we're an author now too).
Jupiter and Venus from Earth
.
The sunset conjunction of Jupiter and Venus in 2012 was pictured by a creative photographer traveled away from the town lights of Szubin, Poland, to image a near closest approach of the two planets.
A faint red sunset still glowed in the background. Jupiter and Venus are together again this month after sunset, passing within a degree of each other about a week ago.

Little silicon valley secret... People that don't know what they're talking about look down their noses at DeAnza just because it's a community college, and think that boot camps are definitely better, and that Berkeley is best of all.
But a lot of Berkeley CS students take as many classes at DeAnza as possible, to save tens of thousands of dollars on tuition!
You're probably reading this on a device with C++ in the operating system written by someone that learned C++ at DeAnza for $150. 🤷🏿♂️
