Oof. I feel like every time I join a game jam life is like, "Oh, you need time for something? Nope!" (Oh, by the way, I was doing a game jam this week and didn't post *anything* about it, so there's that.)

Anyway, I submitted with three whole minutes until the deadline. I wish I'd had more time to fix some annoying bugs and polish it up, but here we are. Anyway, if anyone's interested you can check out my entry!

Finally bit the bullet and learned how to do slopes in #GodotEngine. Mostly it was actually pretty easy to grasp (thanks especially to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l-tf97z2bg), but getting the sliding down steep slopes to work was pretty tricky, and is still super hacky and messes with your jump somehow if you're too close to one. I'll definitely need to do a good bit of experimenting to get it how I want, but feeling pretty good about where I am for just one morning of work.

Nothing super exciting, but a little window into me working on my quest system for #ScreenshotSaturday. You can pick up a quest from dialogue, it gets added to your tracker, you can do the work, and the NPC recognizes whether or not you have when you talk to them again. You can't actually *complete* the quest yet, but I don't have any more time to work right now lol.

Working on my inventory system today, which is apparently narrated by Samuel L Jackson.

It might be a small thing, but I'm feeling pretty good about being able to make a system from scratch that accurately tracks things you pick up (okay, plants you pick up; all I have to pick up right now is plants) and displays them on a proper inventory screen.

My go-to diagnostic move when trying to figure out how something works or fix a problem is to print the word "butts" to the console, because I am absolutely an adult.

A few days in on my dialogue system and I think it's shaping up nicely. Here's a test NPC asking the real questions. (Also please ignore the wildly inconsistent player outfit.)

Hi and happy new year everyone! Sorry I've been absent for a while, the holidays have been a bit frantic and my social battery has been low, but I've been missing the community around here and want to get back into it. My goal this year is to finish a small prototype of the game I really want to make now that I'm more confident with #Godot, and I started the project file today. It's...pretty ugly, lol, but it's a start! Hope the new year is off to a good start for all of you! šŸŽ‰ā€‹
Happy sleepy #Caturday everyone! Finally got a day off, slept really late, and hopefully going to actually get some dev time in today!
Well, guess I’m joining in with #PMGTalentShow! I play the #Guitar (and a little of a lot of other things). The only video I could find quickly was when I arranged a solo version of the #Avengers main theme for the release of Infinity War, because I am a big dork.
More progress on gift game number one! Got inspired and decided the player character is a witch, then accidentally fell into making the beginnings of a sprite. #PixelArt #GameDev
