@jasonkarns Hey there Jason, I have some questions regarding bats-mock, I have a bunch of legacy modem cellular management bash scripts that I want to run through testing but need some mocking/stubbing in order to simulate the modems. If you have some time I'd like to know how to structure my project and how to create multiple stubs. fernandobe+git@protonmail.com thank you.
@hacks4pancakes Random question, I work in ICS we've interacted before. I am a collaborator and maintainer of an industrial open source driver for PLC communications. I think we are being targeted and they have duped our repo, they made a site with same name, and fake content. I think they're professional hackers they went through a lot of work to look legit and like us. Who do we report this to? We feel if people start downloading the fake package it could cause serious damage. Our package name is pylogix from dmroeder. pylogix-dev is the dupe fake.
Just in case you have relatives or friends that are blaming #MRNAVaccine for the cardiac arrest of #DamarHamlin the largest study to date was just published by Penn State College of Medicine showing that #Covid 19 results in 700% more #Myocarditis than MRNA vaccines do. Also, 1500% more myocarditis in Covid cases than those who have not been infected regardless of vaccination status. https://www.psu.edu/news/research/story/myocarditis-seven-times-more-likely-covid-19-vaccines/

You know that fictional machine that Charles Xavier uses to find mutants (cerebro)? We should build one for real to find the anti "jabbers" PhDs and politely remove them from existence, they have to be some of the worse people on earth with their huge ignorance for science. Every tweet I read takes 1 year off of my life. If you use someone critical condition to push your non scientific agenda you're a piece of garbage and I hope hell exists.

#damarhamlin #nfl

Hubs & I don't do sports, but we overheard what happened to #damarhamlin from a man at a table next to us at dinner. Came home and turned on some sports channel to hear more. What an absolute tragedy. Hubs said that these #NFL players are like paid gladiators. I can't understand how a civilized society encourages a "sport" that has contributed to so many serious injuries. I don't pray, but I'll send all of my good energy to Damar Hamlin. A 24 year old kid who has his whole life in front of him.
#damar #damarhamlin #nfl I went to Twitter to check on this player status after he collapsed on the field. Big mistake, anti jab tweets, people worrying about continuing the game. A quick reminder how toxic bird site is.

Ok quick update: I got Proxmox SDN working with VXLAN and Vnets across the cluster!

To reproduce:

1. Install SDN per instructions (about three easy steps per node). See docs: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Software_Defined_Network
2. Add a Zone at the SDN datacenter level. Specify Zone name and Prox nodes to apply to.
3. Add a Vnet at the SDN datacenter level. Specify zone, Vnet name, and VXLAN ID.
4. Apply SDN configuration, this pushes the Vnet config to each Prox node.
5. Add/replace interface on target VM. In my case for testing I added an interface targeting the new Vnet and specified IPv4 statics on two VMs on separate prox nodes and pinged each other.

Software Defined Network - Proxmox VE

I have just learned that I have been laid off, three days before Christmas.

I have a lot of emotions right now, but instead of airing those out I'm focusing in a more positive direction. I am looking for a full-stack engineer or back-end/front-end developer position in the information security space. I am proficient in Python, JavaScript (React, Node, Express mainly) and am getting proficient in Rust. I have my GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification and am comfortable in a systems engineering role with Rust or C/C++ as well.

Contract work welcome, full-time employment preferred. Appreciate the support and hope your holidays are off to a better start than mine!

By far my most memorable childhood memories of Christmas are all the Posadas when I was in México city circa 1995. I still remember them like it was yesterday. Every cuadra came together.

Aún recuerdo lo lindo que eran las celebraciones de las Posadas en la ciudad de México más o menos en el 1995. Ponche, las piñatas, los cantos.

Les deseo una feliz Navidad a todos.

@vidister Wenn zwei sich streiten…

ansible.builtin.user

@vidister Does busybox already implement ansible?
@vidister nano /etc/passwd

@pl

I'd probably go with vipw but yeah 🤣

@vidister omg I feel this 😂
@vidister that was me at 2AM this morning.
@vidister in a world that's working right, the "adduser" button is not wired up. ;o)
@vidister Jedes. Einzelne. Mal.

@nblr @vidister oh ja.

Aber wenigstens kann ich mir die Reihenfolge von Quelle und Ziel bei ln merken, seit ich die Analogie zu cp geschnallt habe.

@hllizi @nblr @vidister Oh, nice. Bei mir war der Moment des Schnallens jetzt. Mal schauen ob es hängen bleibt.
Vielen Dank!
@hllizi @nblr @vidister I started on CP/M (dinosaur alert!), where the PIP program has PIP <dest>=<src>. Guess how many times THAT went wrong whem using Unix (like) operating systems...
@nblr @vidister haha… ich hab immer gedacht das liegt an mir.. 😳
@vidister i have to google it every time
@vidister useradd. Big-endian or GTFO.
@vidister I face that conundrum every time I want to create a user -- when the cognitive tension becomes too high I'll often chicken out and end up just editing the passwd file 🙂

@vidister lmao

only good use of this template

@vidister userctl add <user>

(assimilated by systemd)

@vidister haha *so much this*

https://anagora.org/adduser is probably one of the nodes in my digital garden I visit the most, along with the obvious complement (but less so nowadays?)

Node [[adduser]] in anagora.org

The Agora is a crowdsourced distributed knowledge graph: anagora.org.

@vidister (ln source target) (ln target source)
@vidister Just like when I have to use `ln -s`.
@hawkinsw what helps me remember the order, is that you can omit the last argument to have the symlink created in the current working dir. Which means that the last argument is the target, and the first the source.
@vidister
@vidister 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
@vidister How about a shell script called "ausera" that acts as an interface and calls "adduser" or "useradd" up to chance. Its only fair.

@vidister Oh yes, this.

Like plugging in a USB-A connector, I somehow end up picking randomly and getting the wrong answer much more than 50% of the time.

@kadin @vidister and you end up somehow having to flip it twice 25% of the time.
@vidister I'm in this picture and I don't like it 🤣

@vidister and somehow the one you pick is always the opposite of how you decided last time.

Am-I-rite or Am_I_rite?

@vidister i just shuddered ... the safe one is adduser, right. Or wait...
@vidister Don't worry, it matters a LOT which one you choose at random.
@vidister
ansible localhost -m user -a "name=whynotzoidberg"
@vidister If I'm doing stored procedures, I do noun + verb (simply because the IDE sorts alphabetically). I wish Microsoft SQL Server had the concept of "folders" and that it translated to an actual folder structure in SSMS.
#ssms #microsoft #sql #database
@vidister you know you've messed this up when it starts asking you for the room number 😁
@vidister @fasterthanlime@octodon.social createuser !
@vidister I'm so friggin dyslexic, I cannot tell you which is which.
@vidister This is akin to the USB Heisenstate. Whichever you use .. it was the other one.

@vidister this patch right here is one reason I like the distribution which patches it in to the manual!!

@vidister, I feel attacked by this post.
