Just read today is World Crosstich Day, so I thought I'd share the crosstich project I am currently working on. This pattern was designed in 1998. Someone started stitching the kit and never finished. About 25 years later I bought it on an online marketplace. I like finishing old stitching projects, like I can take them to their final destiny after all. And stitching is one of the best ways to relax my nervous system.

In The Netherlands, 2025 is the year of the Common Kestrel.
Still one of the most frequently seen birds of prey in the Netherlands, the kestrel is finding it increasingly difficult to survive in a depleting landscape. Thus, extra research and attention for this characteristic hunter.

Bezig met voorbereidingen voor een opdracht om een hanger van een beer voor iemand te maken. Eerst veel schetsen, zodat ik de vormen in mijn hoofd en handen heb, dan een ontwerp maken. Daarna gaan zoeken in mijn voorraad hout wat er goed bij past.

Dan denk ik: ik ga eens oefenen met huisjes tekenen, dat is leuk voor in een landschap. Even wat referentiefoto's op Pinterest zoeken. En poef, weg middag. Maar ik heb er toch nog een paar kunnen schetsen na het avondeten. Fineliner met wateroplosbaar grafietpotlood.
