I love this. The Indian Auntie Network is mobilizing for Kamala Harris.

The German state of Saxonia still has over 50k #Bitcoin (given current fictional valuation almost 3 billion EUR) which were seized from an illegal video streaming platform (the course of Bitcoin was a lot lower back then).

They are contemplating selling them and this could actually be interesting just to make it obvious how little actual liquidity there is. Because they wouldn't exchange for other Shitcoins but for hard cash. Could get interesting.

This is frustrating: 'The [Southern Poverty Law Center] Union announced that the SPLC will be laying off a quarter of its staff, including its entire immigrants rights team, despite the organization having a billion dollars in reserves and an F rating from Charity Watch for “hoarding” donations. The union is accusing the SPLC of strategically timing the layoffs less than a year before they begin bargaining for a second contract to intimidate the workers'
Casual reminder that #Assange isn’t a “journalist who revealed war crimes”. Assange actively prevented publication of any documents incriminating #Russia or #Syria in war crimes and he actively distributed every single Russian fake to his multi-million audience after 2014. All these screenshots I made myself with wide open eyes and wondering “WTF is he doing”.

So, the NYT published an ode to the Nazi-favorite word "based" today.

They really do seem to think it's their job to mainstream each and every little fragment of far right culture they possibly can

Via Scott MacFarlane:

It's now been 140 days since the last court filing was allowed in the DC federal criminal prosecution of Donald #Trump.. as the Supreme Court continues the wait for its decision on Presidential immunity

It's less than 140 days until the election #SCOTUS

Even before mask bans become law, simply the act of politicians speaking about mask wearers as criminals is stigmatizing a critical public health tool, and encouraging harassment of marginalized groups. That is incredibly reckless and making our cities more unsafe.

And after 8 years of #Brexit chaos, supply chain and border issues, rising inflation, lack of medical supplies and fresh food, loss of Erasmus, Horizon used as a cheap bargaining chip and tensions around NI and Good Friday Agreement…I think most people see this headline as the signpost back to sanity, it’s what we want and need.

Alt Text: Picture of front page or Daily Express. Headline - Rishi: Starmer will unpick Brexit and rejoin EU by back door

Republicans keep winning elections because they, unlike Democrats, are willing to hold their noses and vote for their own. You think evangelicals like that Trump fucked a porn star while his wife was home caring for their newborn and then covertly paid her to keep quiet? Of course not. You think Blacks for Trump or Women for Trump like that he's a racist and a rapist. Wrong again.

And yet, all these people are going to show up to the polls and vote for Orange Felon, and they're going to encourage everyone they know to do the same. And as a result, Trump stands a very good chance of winning.

Democrats, on the other hand . . . well, too many of them are willing to let the whole house burn down rather than vote for someone because he doesn't tick every box.

If you read only one thing today...make it this story about the #drone team from Brockton High:

"The other teams come from suburban districts, some offering aeronautical engineering programs. Others have parents who are engineers or have time and resources to take them on weekend drone excursions.

The Brockton kids speak multiple languages and have impressive GPAs, but they don’t have those built-in advantages. Quite the opposite. Two live in foster homes." https://www.wgbh.org/news/education-news/2024-06-24/brockton-high-students-fight-for-their-futures-at-americas-most-violent-high-school #droneracing

Brockton High students fight for their futures at ‘America’s most violent high school’

As a national firestorm came down on their school, a small group of students have been concentrating on a drone competition and their college dreams.
