I'm looking for a tool that displays examples of #Dutch #infrastructure based on street width. I cannot find my link. Does anyone know the site? Maybe the @cycling_embassy knows?
Unlike the typical #sneckdown photos showing how much space is wasted on vehicle infrastructure, snow also shows how #pedestrian and #cycling #infrastructure is really what's left over when auto drivers are done. I've seen drivers drive at speed over sidewalks rather than wait. It's no wonder parents keep their children inside. Poor infrastructure not only makes spaces more dangerous, it also robs people of their autonomy and independence.

Five years ago, I bought my first #cargobike. Since then, I have had countless priceless moments talking with these two as we explore our world at a human pace. This magical machine has brought our family closer together and changed my life forever. Yesterday, I finally hit 20,000 kilometers (half-way around the globe), and I can't wait to see what the next half brings.

One of the things I love about #cycling is the ability to just stop and take in the scenery. Riding through the vineyards in #Trier, views like this happen often.
According to the #TÃœV, in 2022, a full 39% of potential drivers failed the theoretical portion of their driver's exam, and 37% failed the practical portion. That's a lot of people when you realize we're talking about 3.6 million exams.
Testing organizations are citing the increased complexity and density of road traffic. Sounds like the beginnings of a campaign for better #publictransit and promotion of #activetravel.
I suppose not every #DesirePath comes in the form of a well-trodden footpath. Many drivers ignore the right-turn-only sign at this #intersection. One decided to vote with paint. Even with the mirror there to help, it's already dangerous to turn right with a hill and a bend in the road right before the intersection. Turning left just increases the risk of collision.

Progress on the western side of the river. The river is much wider now. The bricks that used to line the river have been removed, and there is riprap and an improved walk/bike path being installed along the bank. Hopefully, this helps reduce flooding events in the city and allows nature to take up some of the extra water during rainier times.
