I've been using em dashes since I picked up the LaTeX manual in 1986 and I'm not going back just because some text extruding software uses them more than most humans.
Also, my grandfather was a printer and I knew from an early age that "em" and "en" were legit scrabble words.
They are now publicly boasting of their plans to EXTERMINATE at least 65 million people in this country.

Certainly I know that. It's precisely why I know how upsetting and disturbing it is for you, because I know that you know that, too. Something like that invokes a fight-or-flight response, but you've already said you can't flee (damn, I remember some things). Fighting is not something that comes naturally to us, though, we're pacifists.

@sortius But what *do* we do? We aren't ignoring it. At least I'm not, and most of the others here aren't. The problem is, what actions do we even take to stop it? The nation is like a runaway train, and all I know to do is get out and push. One person taking a stand alone ends up a smear on the tracks. So, I've been trying to drum up support for more collective, practical action.

Read up on what the Irish did.
Organize.
Build bridges to the rural poor that just now realize they were used to harm themselves.
And then: general strikes. Hit them in the wallet.

I have been vocally anti-Trump and anti-fascism from day one. Please aim this at the appropriate people. Find a nest of right-winger fascists and let them have it. They are not here, in this forum, or I would be blasting them with much stronger words than you are using.
