Yet, two months after the murder of MN Speaker Melissa Hortman he's refused to so much as call the Hortman family or MN Governor Walz, and instead took out time to mock them.

Vile hypocrisy doesn't facilitate peace, it enables more violence.

Meanwhile at the National TV Awards, Gary Lineker breaks Ant & Dec's 23 year winning streak by be voted top TV presenter of the year.

And I think Lineker is right to see this as a lot of confidence in him (and be impaction a vote against the BBC management)... as he said:

This 'demonstrates that it is OK to use your platform to speak up on behalf of those who have no voice'... referring to his departure from the Beeb after taking a number of political stances on social media.

New resolution to do something positive for the world every time I find myself enraged by "the news".

So far today I have joined a nature conservation organisation, donated money to #Ukraine and spent an hour researching wildflowers for a bare piece of ground nearby to attract solitary bees, hoverflies + other pollinators that I will finalise planting this spring.

At this rate the world will be a much better place by next Christmas.

And it turns out that it really does help.

In view of yesterday's election results (nearly a third of people voted for openly right-wing extremists in my state of #Brandenburg) I today visited the Ravensbrück concentration camp site in northern Brandenburg (while in transit to a scientific conference).

Only 80 years ago, around 150.000 citizens, neighbours, were subjugated to incredible suffering, torture, slave labor, death. Most of them were women.

What strikes me wrt reports today is how unashamedly extremist the right-wing now is.
