I'm a technophile jack of all trades. I love board games and ttrpgs. I consider Canada, Tanzania, and Kenya to be home, I've managed media production, worked in technology, food service, operations, and education. I love lots of music, but especially jazz and gospel, think everyone should be multilingual, and want to write something meaningful as a fantasy novel. I constantly create, can't stop innovating, and read as much as I can.

#ttrpg #worldbuiding tip:

Restless souls often end up in this state because they transgressed against social norms. For example, in German folklore those who moved field boundary stones ended up as tormented ghosts extremely often.

Thus, you can use ghosts to emphasize the social norms of your fictional society. What transgressions are considered to be especially heinous by the culture you have developed?

Ah crap, I left my toves out in the wabe and they’ve gone all slithy.
When even the folks that make dictionaries think you're a moron...

Amazing how many brilliant scientists will look at an LLM "passing" a standardized test and think, "wow, this computer is very smart" and not "standardized tests are very bad at measuring intelligence"

Finished this lava painting today. I'm pleased with how the water turned out, after being ready to take a Stanley to it yesterday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'm going to sit down for a while.

World appreciate a boost today :)

A question to #cartography and #AI enthusiasts:

Let's say you start with a height map of a planet or a region. Is there an AI system that effectively increases the resolution of the height map, adding more terrain detail as you zoom in?

After all, similar tools exist for other textures - so why not for this one?

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that reading several ttrpg games eventually makes one want to create their own.
