Today is #TransDayofRemembrance when we honor and remember trans lives taken by violence. How horrifying that a deadly attack upon the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado Springs should occur right before this solemn day.
Hate isn’t born in us. It is taught. It must end.
This starts with our political leaders, who must cease their cynical attacks against our community before another attack occurs.
Call out the hate. Remind them of its consequences. Hold them to account.

This article breaks my heart. It expresses some of the feelings I have about going to synagogue and the antisemitism experienced going to school with very few Jewish students.

As a Jewish mom, I want my daughter to be proud of her heritage. But antisemitism makes me worry about her well-being.

Scottish wills and/or testaments from 1513-1925 are on ScotlandsPeople https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/. Remember that in #Scotland land could not be left in a will until 1868 (there was a separate process for inheriting that). Summaries of court hearings for wills/testaments court hearings from 1876-1936 are in the Calendar of Confirmations & Inventories, known on Ancestry as the 'Scotland, National Probate Index' - although 'probate' is an English term, the process here is 'confirmation'! #genealogy

I am delighted to launch this Mastodon instance, allowing a focus for those people who have a interest in Family History and #Genealogy research.

Anyone with such an interest can create an account. (you can have multiple accounts across mastodon to segregate your social activity).

Accounts are being manually activated after creation, as we gradually ease into the Mastodon universe. Activation may take a few hours (especially overnight)
