Professional Genealogist at American Ancestors/NEHGS. Opinions are my own.
@ChiefGenealogist I do an evaluation of the sources mentioned in the profile and compare against what I already know to see if there are any discrepancies.

@GavinEOB No possible connection on an Irish line?
Today is #TransDayofRemembrance when we honor and remember trans lives taken by violence. How horrifying that a deadly attack upon the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado Springs should occur right before this solemn day.
Hate isn’t born in us. It is taught. It must end.
This starts with our political leaders, who must cease their cynical attacks against our community before another attack occurs.
Call out the hate. Remind them of its consequences. Hold them to account.

This article breaks my heart. It expresses some of the feelings I have about going to synagogue and the antisemitism experienced going to school with very few Jewish students.

As a Jewish mom, I want my daughter to be proud of her heritage. But antisemitism makes me worry about her well-being.

Off to New Hampshire Historical Society to teach a DNA workshop
#genchat if Twitter dies before tomorrow night (Nov 18) we’ll be meeting here on #Mastodon at 9pmCT, 10pmET, etc. spread the word, boost the toot, stay tuned.
@geneapleau I did the same as well - hoping I get the archive before everything goes down.
Scottish wills and/or testaments from 1513-1925 are on ScotlandsPeople https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/. Remember that in #Scotland land could not be left in a will until 1868 (there was a separate process for inheriting that). Summaries of court hearings for wills/testaments court hearings from 1876-1936 are in the Calendar of Confirmations & Inventories, known on Ancestry as the 'Scotland, National Probate Index' - although 'probate' is an English term, the process here is 'confirmation'! #genealogy
