I really hate that this is described as "photo-realistic lighting" as if it's a new lighting mathematical model instead of just "we're feeding the game image into an image generator trained on _something_ else and showing you the result".
I've felt like Digital Foundry has been giving dlss too much leeway for a while and their response to this make me lose any faith in their opinions.

Apex's launch did so much brain damage to marketing that they still haven't recovered.
This tactic was used for Immortals of Aveum and it was so fucking stupid. We didn't even show gameplay in the game awards trailer and no one gave a shit about the game.
