The Zuck suck is in full swing. In the few short hours since I started using #Threads, #DuckDuckGo has already blocked over 200 data tracking attempts. These include things like "headphone status" and "screen density."

EDIT for clarity: The 200+ attempts *may* have been overcounted as DDG hadn't tooled their VPN for Threads yet.

Since my post about the #DuckDuckGo app and #Threads is still getting lots of attention, I want to be clear about how I actually feel about #DataPrivacy. It's a lot like #recycling. Yeah it's a good thing to protect your own personal data, but if we're being honest, it's not effective on an individual scale. We need good legislation at a national level to meaningfully change the game for the benefit of us all. Until then, no matter how careful you are, you're still being negatively affected.

I second this, I've made a lot of prototypes with it, also with my own designed cards. You can have any size deck you want, you can also say I want this card 3 times.

@sezduck Nice ep. Why can't the new star trek be more like the old star trek... :S

TikTok users are speaking critically about viral products and advocating for thoughtful shopping habits. On a platform known for driving consumption, is change even possible?

*“Most of our users are on Desktop”*

Sure, some sites are desktop only, but while mobile usage continues to grow and desktop continues to fall, it makes sense to at least dig deeper to make sure you know why you have more desktop usage.

Same goes for A/B testing. Don't rely only on the statistics, find out why A outperformed B. Sometimes the results are opposite of what you think.

@barryzee yeah. It’s a pet peeve of mine for a long time on Instagram or Twitter. People are scrolling and liking and resharing willy-nilly without much thought, it’s become an automatic thing.

For me it’s hard to judge which are worth checking out if someone is constantly resharing or liking.

So if you limit the amount of reshares or likes people have to really think about what to share and like.

CASTLE Framework for Workplace Applications UX

The HEART framework is great for B2C products but is lacking for workplace applications where users cannot choose the product. CASTLE offers a complementary assessment framework for UX that focuses on the needs of internal product teams.

@brass75 that sounds scary though. I’m not sure that a fork like that can compete with non limited ones.
