My amazing wife gifted me a copy of the game #Wingspan for Christmas and we've been playing it nonstop. It's such a neat game with a ton of replayability. Highly recommend!

I'm much less interested in how other cis people felt about the new #DoctorWho special's focus on #Trans inclusion than I am in how actual trans people felt about it.

And while I know no group is a monolith, I've heard overwhelmingly positive reactions from the trans community about how the special handled things.

Meanwhile, butthurt cis men on Reddit keep whining that it felt "cheesy, forced, and rushed."

So I want to invite any and all trans folks in my mutuals to share their thoughts.

Everyone racing to claim the MCU is dead because of The Marvels is ignoring the fact that Marvel did next to 0 marketing during the actor's strike but still decided to launch the movie on schedule.

The Marvels was freaking delightful. I haven't had that much fun watching a movie in a while. Plenty of worse Marvel movies performed better at the box office, and that's just a shame. This movie and its amazing cast deserve plenty of fanfare.

So while it's your right (and a smart idea) to take your #DataPrivacy seriously, until change is made on a large scale, you literally cannot do enough. Just existing in the world at all means you have a digital footprint that can be bought and sold.

So if you want to use #Threads from #Meta, use it! If you don't, don't! But get off your high horse about it either way and try to understand that people have legitimately good reasons for making the choice that's right for them.

Since my post about the #DuckDuckGo app and #Threads is still getting lots of attention, I want to be clear about how I actually feel about #DataPrivacy.

It's a lot like #recycling. Yeah it's a good thing to protect your own personal data, but if we're being honest, it's not effective on an individual scale. We need good legislation at a national level to meaningfully change the game for the benefit of us all. Until then, no matter how careful you are, you're still being negatively affected.

Since this has gotten so much attention, I want to clarify that yes, I do know that the DuckDuckGo app is showing me the data Facebook *tends to* collect, not a breakdown of how/when/what they requested in explicit detail.

I simply posted this because I had lightly used this brand-new app on and off for a couple of hours and already had hundreds of tracking requests. That was shocking to me, even if I did expect mass data harvesting from a Meta product.

The intent is to be informed.

Good God this blew up. I'm turning off notifications for this post, so if I don't reply, that's why 😂

The Zuck suck is in full swing. In the few short hours since I started using #Threads, #DuckDuckGo has already blocked over 200 data tracking attempts. These include things like "headphone status" and "screen density."

EDIT for clarity: The 200+ attempts *may* have been overcounted as DDG hadn't tooled their VPN for Threads yet.

I've been on #Lemmy, #Kbin, and #Squabbles for a day now and my early impressions for these #RedditAlternatives are:

- Lemmy is the most stable and robust.
- Kbin is the best at showing you what you want to see.
- Squabbles has the most content.

If Kbin had an app that would probably put it in first place for me. For now, it's tied with Lemmy. I like the amount of easily accessible discussion on Squabbles, but it's impossible to filter through the noise.

Happy #RedditMigration y'all!
