This is Rafah. My city.
The bottom photo is how I grew up knowing it — full of life, buildings, streets, people.
The top is what it looks like today.
They didn't just destroy buildings. They destroyed every street I walked. Every corner I knew. The place where I became who I am.
I am not allowed to return. Even if I could — there is nothing left to return to.
I look at this image and I don't have words. Just a grief that has no bottom.
