My mum’s front garden has a good crop of dandelions on the go.
This is the most magnificent horse chestnut tree that I have seen in a long time. Absolute beauty.
Sitting in the middle of a wet woodland, it completely dominates its location. Wonderful. And massive!
If you zoom in you can see people under the canopy for some scale.

Yesterday I went to see Britain’s smallest wildlife trust reserve which is only 0.025-hectare in size. It consists of a single ancient Hawthorn tree surrounded by a wooden fence. It is called the Hethel Old Thorn.
Really need to visit it again in May once it’s in bloom when it will be looking its best.
On this day six years ago, we said goodbye to our lovely, gentle Pickle aged nearly 20 years old.
We miss her still 😿💔
Saw this funky fungus yesterday. I believe it is “scarlet elf cup” (Sarcoscypha coccinea), though more than happy to be corrected.
