Last friday, our first "Rise of the Algomancer" challenge event took place. Not everything went as planned, resulting in one hour and a half of intense stress. Here is my "post-partum" article about it :

(and in french 🇫🇷 : https://tiesselune.com/fr/blog/rise-of-the-algomancer-post-partum/)

Late note : we know it's called a *murder*. But still.
Just a thought: kind of fitting for a studio that chose a crow as their logo to be using a game engine called #bevy for their first official production
PS : want to bring a challenge to your school/company for a fun coding challenge/icebreaker day/recruitment test? Please reach out!

#LastBoost :

#RiseOfTheAlgomancer is a game about coding. The first peek of it will be a 1-day challenge for computer science students, at Ynov Campus schools, all over France, on March the 13th.

It's an in-browser coding editor interacting with a WebGL2/WebAssembly 3D dungeon crawler made in #bevyengine

The challenge is solvable in #Rust, #GoLang, #Csharp, #Java, #Python, #Javascript, #TypeScript, and #Cpp.

Bevy   is not ready for production you say? Watch us!

It starts looking pretty cool with bevy_firework torches and a custom-made post-process toon shader! #bevyengine #RiseOfTheAlgomancer

This is truly glorious #AISlop from #Microslop in their "Introduction to Github" course.

I don't know why Tim is working in the opposite direction, but I can see that he never once "morges" his code back into develop, let alone doing it "continvoucly"

Update:

It looks as though after 4-5 months the page has been updated, but if you want to see the image in situ still then the way back machine has you covered.

But well then I finally had a working implementation with even smoother curves :
