I've posted a Github issue outlining why I'm freaked out at the word "irrevokable" in Mastodon's new TOS IP clause:

It's sort of long (sorry), but several people seemed confused what my problem was earlier, so maybe extra detail will help. I include an outline of my "nightmare scenario", and contrast other site TOSes.

With a few rough edges, nothing to stop me from using it, I am impressed and happy. I started 3 feeds about scifi. I'm doing more today. I'm impressed. I get to create a feed with exactly the info/feed I want. I can filter words (EG: †rümp) to clean it up. I open the app and it's the experience I want. Granted there are boosts that I'd rather filter, but this is oh so much better than just having stuff shoved down my throat.

One of my biggest issues with the Mastodon, perhaps my only one, is that I CANNOT have a feed completely how I want. I cannot turn off boosts, especially from a specific user. I cannot have a home feed free of some algorithm shit. I cannot stop recommendations. I'm a big boy, I can choose not to each Brussels sprouts and what I want to see/read/watch/listen to. But even here, I am not allowed.
