I am interested using Raspberry Pi computers and other micro computers and microcontrollers.

Generally working through a list of projects that I would like to do that only ever seems to get longer, while my time to do them seems to get shorter.

I program in python and post the results of my projects on my website for anybody who may be interested. It's good to share.

@konreifen it looks like the WD SSD's are a bit tempremental with the Pi5 with the Pimoroni Nvme base, so it may be related. See the compatability list for "Maybe List" that list the SN700 and "Avoid List" for other models at the bottom of the listing. Sorry can't help beyond this. https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/nvme-base?variant=41219587178579
NVMe Base for Raspberry Pi 5

Today #RaspberryPi published a really wild update - DO NOT UPDATE if you've updated to Trixie before official release because here's what it's gonna do to your desktop and have a look at this official forum thread:

 A Pi-based LiDAR Scanner.

Early LiDAR systems were cumbersome and expensive but as the march of time continues on, these systems have become much more accessible to the average person. So much so that you can quickly attach one to a Raspberry Pi and perform LiDAR imaging for a very reasonable cost.

@doefom thanks, hopefully it will give you some ideas. The second link was the iss tracker. Also here https://www.raspberryconnect.com/projects/39-programming/179-python-project-with-e-ink-display-iss-global-tracker
You could also do something similar with other APIs such as moon phases. There are a lot out there to tap into. Have fun.
Raspberry Connect - python project with e-ink display - ISS Global Tracker

This python project uses an e-ink, e-paper, triple colour display to show the location of the International Space Station (ISS)

@doefom Hi I have used a pizero w with an e ink display to track the International Space station.

My Zero2 is used for a music player for my hamster. She can boogie while standing in front of a sensor. Activities are logged in nodered.
I also use them to run programmable led strips at Christmas.

Write up's here

@[email protected] you can use the active cooler that you can buy seperatly, just not the one that comes with the case.

I previously brought the pimoroni base so made a small hole in the back of the case that does the trick, using their 50mm cable. The m2 hat+ would be better for a mod free option.

Modding an official Pi5 case to use with the Pimoroni NVMe Base add-on

@[email protected] the new m2 hat+ from raspberry pi is suppose to fit in the official case. See the comments in the article. You will need to remove the fan that comes with it. It also only takes the shorter ssd

Raspberry Pi Connect
Access your Raspberry Pi from anywhere
Raspberry Pi Connect gives you free, simple, out-of-the-box access to your Raspberry Pi from anywhere in the world. It is a secure screen sharing solution for Raspberry Pi OS, allowing you to connect to your Raspberry Pi desktop directly from any browser.

I have updated my Automatic AccessPoint script.
Network at home & AccessPoint when you are out.
"AccessPopup" on the #raspberrypi so that it now works on #archlinux arm for Pi4 as well as the #Ubuntu Pi Image and #PiOS Bookworm. Will probably work on other systems but not tested yet. Needs NetworkManager but i also have a different script for the older PiOS

Raspberry Connect - Automated Switching - Access Point or WiFi Network

Activate an easy Automated WiFi AccessPoint or connect to a local WiFi Network for Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm. The AP is automatically created when you are out.

#pimoroni brought out a longer pcie cable for their NVMe Base. So i brought the setup hopeing it can be used with a #raspberrypi 5 case. It didn't fit. So i have modified the case instead. All setup and running with a 256gb SSD drive now.
