It's teacher Tuesday!!

Hey teachers, I'm working on some awesome new prototyping helpers that will let your students both power and connect to breadboard circuits using a single USB-C cable!

More details soon... 😀

New to me - I have an old 64GB Sandisk uSD card with important photos on it. It's nearly full and I'm backing it up to a fast SSD. The problem: the data is reading at 1MB/s. I've read people's claims that it can be caused by the card being full (I thought that slowed down writes only), or because it's on its death bed. Whatever the reason, check your flash storage devices regularly, you may get some unpleasant surprises...

No, sorry, what you meant to say was:

"It looks like we've written an unsupported website"

That drifting controller isn't trash. It's a soldering project.
So much "unfixable" gear is only stuck because the dead part is soldered down. Learn to melt it off and the new one on, and a whole world of repairs opens up.

I've created a tiny QWIIC (I2C) VL53L4CD ToF (Time-of-Flight) distance sensor module for my BEAPER #robots and shared it on @PCBWay here: https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/QWIIC_VL53L4CD_Time_of_Flight_Distance_Sensor_Module_eb6c9ff4.html

QWIIC-VL53L4CD Time-of-Flight Distance Sensor Module - Share Project - PCBWay

The good old HC-SR04 SONAR module, and its newer, 3.3V HC-SR04P sibling, have long been go-to distance sensors for hobby robot circuits. The downside is that these modules are distinctively large, wit...

Whoa, it's Wednesday!! I was so busy yesterday I missed my teacher Tuesday post. 😢

Never fear, I'm here for my fellow teachers! 😄

Are you starting to plan for next school year? Here's a complete beginner microcontroller curriculum you might wanna look at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Das4E6nijXZ-mP2Ikqn5dJvDbbGIyy0oLm7_AzW3-Ww/edit?usp=sharing

The internet is still full of wacky, weird, fun stuff. Your stuff still has a home. People want to see it.

Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

It's mirobo Monday!!

I've slowly been working away on some QWIIC things (see what I did there? 😉)!

I made my robots a tiny little VL53L4CD ToF distance sensor module. 🤖

And, I made a matching QWIIC adapter for other I2C devices.

It's freebie Friday!!

I've just shared my new Adapt-2-QWIIC circuit on @PCBWay – it'll pop up after review and join my other shared circuits, here: https://www.pcbway.com/project/member/shareproject/?bmbno=CFD50F93-D0EC-45

Adapt-2-QWIIC is designed to make it easy to connect cheap I2C peripherals using QWIIC cables!
