My grandpa was a first generation American who went into WW2 as a 17 yo from a tiny town of Idaho. He was shot in the Philippines and watch most of his comrades die. He taught me the importance of education and to be anti war. I miss him every day. When I was a teacher in 2016 I was able to have my students in 5th grade do projects on the UN global goals. They were talking about the racisim of FEMA and hurricane katrina and other big issues. When I tried to do this last year- I couldn’t find the goals nor the information they used for these presentations.
