5/ The clerical protests in Montenegro (derogatorily referred to by a part of the Serbian commentariat as "processionism"), against a supposed persecution of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, is one of those things that united the opposed political tribes in Serbia in their frustration over what they call "milogorci" - a slur for a supporter of Montenegrin independence from Serbia. ⬇️

4/ Present-day Montenegro is subjected to the same tactics originating from all political factors in Serbia. Last December, a protest against a sewage treatment plant financed by EU funds in Zeta, which received support from Serbian media and all political factors - government, opposition, and the students. It is a mainstream narrative to present the "Serbian majority in the region" as "oppressed". ⬇️

Protests against the construction of a central wastewater treatment plant in the Zeta neighborhood of Botun, which began in late 2025, escalated in January 2026 into one of Montenegro’s most sensitive political and social issues.
3/ Here's why Montenegro detaining and sending back "activists" was a good idea. Slobodan Milošević took power over Kosovo, Vojvodina, and Montenegro administrations in a series of media slur campaigns and orchestrated protests called the Yogurt Revolution 1986-1989. The same tactic was tried against Slovenia in December 1989, but the Slovenian and Croatian police prevented the "activists" from coming and "spreading the truth". ⬇️

Hungary’s prime minister, Péter Magyar, revived an old nationalist slogan during a speech marking the anniversary of the Treaty of Trianon. “We may be the only country in the world that borders itself,” Magyar said, continuing the revanchist idiocy of his former party, Fidesz.
Magyar stressed that ethnic Hungarians living beyond Hungary’s borders are part of the same nation and used the occasion to address two related "issues" in Slovakia and Ukraine.
