New post: "The only frontend stack we should talk about" — my thoughts after our talk at the @ctwebdev conference last week.

The only frontend stack we should talk about

While we debate React vs Vue vs Svelte, 95% of websites fail accessibility standards and ship broken HTML. The only frontend stack that matters: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — done right.

On Nov 19, @ajkuebler and I will be on stage at the c't <webdev> conference to tell a tale about:

- "Boring" but incredibly powerful web standards
- Breaking down traditional silos
- How team dynamics and changing requirements drove multiple tech stack pivots
- What we learned along the way

Ich finde das neue Dialog-Element und die popover-API super. Deshalb gibt es hier eine kleine Einführung mit vielen weiterführenden Links:

@jensgro Ok, habs der AI mit dieser Kreation von 2015 nicht so leicht gemacht, aber einiges stimmt zufällig: “Coding occupies his time, a dance with logic and frustration, reading tech news shapes his world. He occasionally attends poorly organized meetups …" (war das eine Anspielung auf Frontend RheinMain? ;)) und weiter “… doomscrolling and complaining online” Yo, passt! 🤣👍

⭐ New note: Accessible rating stars

https://netzartist.de/notes/accessible-rating-stars/

Just HTML + CSS (using :has selectors for hover behaviour), and it should work with any SVG icon.

Accessible rating stars

We couldn't find a rating star component that fit our project's needs, so I created one.

I'm really proud to present my fully documented source code for Elite on the Commodore 64.

This is the original 1985 source, recently released by Ian Bell, with every single line of code explained.

It’s a thing of beauty. Enjoy!
