Spent quite some hours with FreeBSD networking on my Home-Server, but now it all works!!! π₯³
- 6 Intel NICs (Some with tagged, some untagged networks)
- Bridges and virtual switches for Behyve VMs and Jails
- Trunk-Port to my Aruba AP with all VLANs for different SSIDs
- Full IPv6 support on all networks
- Firewall (via pf) and NAT for Legacy-IP
- PCI Passthrough of one NIC to a Behyve VM (with IOMMU/vt-d)
FreeBSD is just a network beast π

Spun up a virtual lab environment with an Ansible contol node plus 5 managed nodes to practice with.
All easily done on Proxmox VE, that is running on a server in the @hetzner datacenter.
And the best part: VM snapshots makes it easy to roll back to the original state, whenever it's needed π
Now let's automate and practice π€
FreeBSD

Here the enhanced edition for Windows, perfectly running on FreeBSD 14.3 via Wine
The EE is currently on sale for just 8 EUR on gog.com. Of course entirely DRM free π
