I foolishly bought a new, well used, gpu, a very flashy AMD RX 6800 and it makes local LLMs go BBRRRRRRRR. Wish I was better at this AI stuff really 😂🎉
your reminder that for precise questions, Perplexity.ai and friends are dumber than a sack of bricks.
My students are exploring #ai this semester, and while I have shown them some #retrievalaugmentedgeneration basics in like LM Studio, they understandably aren't very impressed. Is there any good open source or even commercial solutions that are sort of plug and play? These are not super technical students hence the question.
maaan this #linuxmint stuff is goooood <3 Big fan. Was gonna try @system76 but I for some reason keep having problems with getting ParsecGaming to work so meh :p
I have discovered this #orangepi 800 all in one computer and now it is everything I have ever wanted. Why am I like this? http://www.orangepi.org/html/hardWare/computerAndMicrocontrollers/details/orange-pi-800.html

kind of satisfied with #linux_mint though I have a weird bug where inserting my usb mouse and lan-cable will crash the UI... unless i wait a while between each. Pretty consistent issue too. I can live with this but thats wild :D
I watched that #cyberbunker documentary on netflix, that is wild as hell. I hang with a lot of hackers and misfits in my younger days and I can 100% recognize the mentality of these guys, but I also met enough classic career criminals to recognize the overlap here. Its a great watch, go watch it.
Hi lovelies I bought an electric cargo bike to transport child with autism, and maybe old computer hardware I buy around my local area
While I still don't think there is a killer app for #LLM, #claudeai has been highly useful for my recent adventures in #Python and in being a somewhat noobish user of #linuxmint (which is great by the way, it seems to control heat way better on my ThinkPad than windows).

Greetings to everyone on hci.social, I lead the Visualisation and Interaction Research group at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. It would be great to make some contacts on hci.social.
